Zena James

A welcome return to vocalist Zena James with Tim Wells bass, Nick Weldon piano, Mike Bradley drums and Dave Lewis sax.

In a Crowded field this singer is compellingly different and her vocal storytelling is convincingly honest. Trudy Kerr.

Her inimitable, emotive voice is influenced by jazz, soul and pop sounds from Anita O' Day to Stevie Wonder to Eva Cassidy. Described by critics as "the real deal with an intelligent approach to the familiar lyric and a good ear for a neglected classic", her live performance is powerful, stylish and very engaging.

"Staggeringly excellent. Zena is a true find - GET HER BACK. A live wire if ever I saw one." -
Mike John Everett

"An excellent production...Zena's version of Abbey Lincoln's 'Throw it Away' deserves to have 'hit' written all over it..." Brian Blain, Jazz UK, September 2007
